DRIVER IMPROVEMENT CLINIC (In Person)

The 8 hour Driver Improvement Clinic is available to juveniles and adults, and islicensed by the Virginia DMV. The National Safety Council (NSC) Defensive Driving Curriculum is utilized and has been the leader in driver safety training since 1964. Our highly qualified instructors discuss a wide variety of subjects, including effective defensive driving techniques, distracted driving,
impaired driving, aggressive driving, traffic rules, law enforcement, traffic court preparation, tips and DMV guidelines.

Whether you are a beginner or seasoned driver, you will find our class to be educational and most informative.This course may be attended Voluntarily to obtain reduced rates on your insurance premium, as a refresher, Court Appointed or required by DMV. Up to five (5) points may be awarded for successful completion, by the DMV or court. Upon completing and passing the course, LEE DRIVING SCHOOL will award the student a Certificate of Successful Completion, the day of class. It is the responsibility of the student to forward the certificate to the desired recipient. The clinic is available to juveniles and adults and offered once monthly. DRIVER IMPROVEMENT CLINIC (Online)

Students must be able to work independently and be comfortable with using a computer. The online driver improvement course and “End of Course” final test can be taken online. The online driver improvement course is an eight-hour course, designed to rehabilitate problem drivers.The course must be completed in its entirety prior to the issuance of completion. Student identification will be verified through-out training and prior to taking the final test to ensure that the person taking the course is the same person taking the final test. Open book testing is not permitted. The course fee is $105 submitted via PayPal or $100 via cash or money order. Technical Assistance must be submitted via the Help Desk by calling 804-943-4280 Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm.

Customers directed by the Court must provide documentation from the court before safe driving points can be awarded. The certificate of completion will be electronically transmitted to all individuals upon successful completion of the Eight-Hour Online Driver Improvement Clinic Course within 24 hours, and will be posted to your driving record within 24 hours of the completion date.You will need a computer with Internet connection and have access to “Adobe Reader DC.” DMV is committed to promoting transportation safety through the

If the certificate is presented to DMV, it must be printed on 8 ½ x 11 plain white bonded paper with any form of advertisement on the front and back of the certificate. DMV will not accept any certificates that have been altered in any way. This course is available to juveniles and adults. It is your resonsibility to determine if your court accepts this computer based driver improvement course. DRIVER’S MANUAL COURSE (In Person)

This course is hosted on the LearnWorld’s platform, using the Axis curriculum. Axis and Lee Driving School is not responsible for outages, downtime, or technical issues caused by LearnWorlds or other third party providers.In order to benefit from the course, you must be able to work independently and be comfortable with using a computer.

The online driver’s manual course must be completed through a DMV-licensed driver training school. The online driver’s manual course is an eight hour course based on the Virginia Driver’s Manual and is designed to better prepare individuals for the general knowledge test. The course must be completed in its entirety prior to the issuance of a certificate of completion. Students under the age of 18 that fail the general knowledge test three times: If you complete the required classroom portion of the driver’s education (consisting of 36 fifty minute classroom sessions) after you fail three times, you may present the certificate of completion such as a DEC-1, (from the public or private school) or DTS 36 (from a DMV-licensed driver training school) to the email address of the school that will be providing the Driver’s Manual course before you enroll.

The certificate of completion must be printed on 8 ½ x 11 plain white bonded paper. DMV will not accept certificates printed in color or specially designed paper or paper with any form of advertisement on the front or back of the certificate. DMV will not accept any certificates that have been altered in any way.

ADULT WAIVER COURSE (In Person)

This two (2) part program is for adults (ages 18 and over) that have a valid Learner’s Permit (issued by the Virginia DMV) who are looking to WAIVE the DMV required 60 days holding period AND also BYPASS taking the final Road Test at a DMV location. Seven sessions of driving and seven sessions of observations are required, along with a final road test. Each session lasts 50 minutes. Additionally,proof of successful completion of a state approved Driver Education course is required. Documentation is sent to the DMV for approval. Once approved, DMV mails the hard copy Driver's License to the recipient.

ONE/ONE TUTORING - BEHIND THE WHEEL TRAINING (In Person)

Sessions assist to ensure a safe, responsible and accountable driver. In addition, driving skills and confidence will improve and afford the opportunity to become a defensive driver.Each lesson is 50 minutes in length; *2 sessions minimum. A Student Skill Checklist is provided upon completion. Course available to juveniles and adults.

JUVENILE LICENSING (FULL PACKAGE) COURSE (Under 18 - In Person)

The program is for juveniles (under age 18) and consists of 36 fifty-minute classroom sessions, as required by VADMV. Classroom instruction must be completed before behind the wheel instruction begins. Behind the wheel instruction includes 350 minutes driving and 350 minutes observation. The Road Test is administered during the last session of driving. Upon successful completion, Lee Driving School issues a Temporary Provisional Driver's License Certificate (DTS-B) valid for 6 months/180 days. This document along with the Learner’s Permit, will serve as a full-fledged license.

The Temporary Provisional Driver's License (DTS-B) does not become valid unless a teenager is at least 16yrs and 3 months of age and has held a Learner’s Permit for 9 months. Lee Driving School sends a copy of the certificate (DTS-B) to the DMV main office in Richmond,Virginia. The student will receive his/her hard copy from DMV soon thereafter or a letter from the local court requiring you/her attendance at the Licensing Ceremony.

DRIVER EDUCATION CLASSROOM (In Person)

The curriculum includes components about alcohol safety, drug abuse awareness, aggressive driving, distracted driving, driving emergencies,
pedestrian & bicycle safety, motorcycle awareness, organ donation awareness and auto insurance info, etc. The course is accelerated, instructor-led, consisting of 50 minute sessions totaling 36 hours. Students are required to attend.

The course is available to juveniles and adults and is taught once the class is full or at the discretion of the instructor.

DRIVER EDUCATION CLASSROOM (ONLINE)

The curriculum includes components about alcohol safety, drug abuse awareness, aggressive driving, distracted driving, driving emergencies,
pedestrian & bicycle safety, motorcycle awareness, organ donation awareness and auto insurance info, etc. The course is accelerated,consisting of 50 minute sessions totaling 30 hours.

The course is available to juveniles and adults and is taught online at your convenience. The location test site is located at 41670 West Morgan Avenue, Pennington Gap, Va. (Use back entrance/lower level).  Hours available for testing are Monday-Friday within normal business hours 10:00a.m. - 4:00p.m. Testing must be scheduled and is included with the Lee Driving School Driver Education Online Course. Instructions will be read and verified before testing begins.

Testing procedures include *Required approved identification (DMV learner’s permit, DMV issued identification card, school issued identification card, valid passport or military identification). *Must present a DTS62 granting permission for the student to take the final examination with appropriate signatures. *Arrive 15 minutes prior to testing, *No electronic devices, books, notes, or outside materials are permitted. BEHIND THE WHEEL COURSE (In Person)

This program is a mandatory requirement for all teenagers (under 18) to complete in order to receive their Driver's License.Training includes seven (7) sessions of driving and seven (7) sessions of observations. Each season consists of 50 minutes. Students must have completed the Driver Education Knowledge Course (online/in person)prior to this course and hold a valid Virginia Learner’s Permit. Course available to juveniles and adults.

RECKLESS & AGGRESSIVE DRIVING EDUCATION PROGRAM (Online)

This 12-hour Reckless and Aggressive Driver Education Program (RADEP) was created in collaboration with a Virginia-based provider serving the community since 1987. The program is informed by nationally recognized research and instructional design principles and serves as a rehabilitative intervention addressing the root causes of reckless and aggressive driving.

The curriculum addresses key behavioral and cognitive factors, including: Perception of Safety and Risk Awareness, Choice of Theory and Decision Making, Psychology of Reckless and Aggressive Driving, RUA Defensive Driving Framework and State Approved Driver Improvement Content.

The platform uses a multi-layered engagement model to ensure active participation and comprehension, including: Interactive Activities, Reflection Benchmarks, Page Timers Ensuring 12 Hours of Participation and Quizzes and Final Exam. Once the student registers, refunds are not permitted. Upon successful completion, a Certificate of Completion will be provided as a PDF and is emailed to the student within one business day.
